2020년 초중등 한국어채택 학교 학생을 대상으로 제3차 특별 한국어 웨비나가  옥스포드 대학교 조지은 교수와 Emily Lord 조교수의 강의로 12월 21일부터 23일까지 3일간 진행되었습니다. 이번 행사는 8월에 진행된 1차 ‘한글의 역사와 세종’, 9월에 진행된 2차 ‘한국 문화(음악, 영화, 음식)에 나타난 한국어’에 이어 ‘한국어 발음과 음운 규칙’에 대한 강의로 이루어졌습니다. COVID-19으로 인하여 영국 현지 초중등 학교의 방과후 한국어 강좌가 정상적으로 이루어지지 못한 학교가 많았지만, 특별 웨비나를 통해 한국어에 대한 지속적인 관심을 유도하고 한국어 교육을 증진시키고자 행사를 기획하였습니다. 

이번 강의 주제는 아래와 같습니다.

‘The Sounds of Korean: Linguistic and Practical Pronunciation’

[Lecture 1] 
Sound Inventory(What sounds are in Korean and what sounds can Hangeul represent? How are they different from English?)

[Lecture 2] Phonological rules(What are phonological rules in Korean?)

[Lecture 3] How to pronounce/understand difficult sounds(for non-Koreans)
