AN OPPORTUNITY THAT MONEY CAN’T BUY!
Introduction of TaLK Program:
S. Korean Government sponsored - The 'TaLK (Teach & Learn in Korea)' program is inviting adventurous global leaders to teach English to students and to experience and learn about Korean culture. Participants will receive Korean government scholarships and teach English in after-school classes of Korean elementary schools while enjoying cultural programs during their free time. Recipients will be placed at schools in rural areas in need of greater exposure to English and teach the language by forming one-on-one working relationships with Korean university student volunteers. Candidates should have a desire to work with children, have a service-centered mind, a willingness to work in rural areas, and have consideration for others with a positive attitude.
Benefits:
1. Monthly allowance: 1.5 million KRW (approximately 750 GBP)
2. Accommodation (a studio-type room, or a home-stay etc.)
3. Round-trip Airfare
4. Health insurance cover
5. One-off settlement allowance - 300,000KRW
6. Opportunities to participate in cultural programs
7. Other benefits
i. Preparatory Orientation is held for four weeks in February, 2010.
ii. Paid Sick Leave, Korean University Volunteer-aid System etc.
Eligibility(Applicants must)
- Be a citizen of one of the following countries where the national language is English: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, U.K., U.S.A., Ireland, and South Africa.
*Korean Nationals with permanent residency in the above countries are also eligible.
- Have completed two or more years of education at an accredited university in the countries aforementioned.
Duty
- Working for the designated elementary schools in rural areas in Korea
*Teaching English in after-school classes : 15 hours per week
Contract Term
- Either 6 months or one year, starting August 2009
* February, 2010-July, 2010 (six months)
* February, 2010- January, 2011 (one year)
Application Deadline: December 10th, 2009
- Early applicants will get the priority for selection
- Application procedures: Online application

※ 영국 공관 추천 인원 : 20명 내외
○ 활동 내용 : 4주의 오리엔테이션 후 6개월에서 1년 동안 1주 15시간 정도 초등학교 방과 후 영어교육 활동에 참여
○ 활동 기간 : 6개월 또는 1년
※ 2010. 2월 ～ 2010. 7월 또는 2010. 2월 ～ 2011. 1월
○ 지원 자격 : 영어를 모국어로 사용하는 국가 국적자 (시민권자)로서, 현지 대학에서 2년 이상 과정을 수료한 재학생 및 졸업자 또는 전문대 졸업(예정)자
※ 재외동포의 경우 영주권자 및 (전문)대학 1, 2학년 재학생도 지원 가능

○ 장학혜택 : 생활비 월 150만원 지급, 항공권 제공, 숙소제공, 한국문화체험 실시, 한국어학습 기회 제공, 활동 인증서 수여

※ 선착순 추천 : 1차 10.6(화), 2차 11.6(금), 3차 12.10(목)
○ 시작 시기 : 2010년 2월 중
